The Senior Chief Petty Officer (SCPO, grade E8) was a senior enlisted non-commissioned officer rank used by the Coalition Space Fleet. The SCPO was granted to those Chief Petty Officers who achieved superior approval by the Military General Command.
The SCPO would serve on the Command level (within a single unit, such as a starship or space station. They would take on mostly administrative duties pertaining to a specific department or division, such as engineering or the armory. In that regard, the SCPO of a vessel would work closely with the Executive Officer of the post, along with the officer-grade department head in which they were posted (usually a Lieutenant Commander).
They were usually referred to as "Senior Chief", or sometimes, the more informail "Senior."
