The Senior Shipman (SrSHP, grade E8) was a senior enlisted non-commissioned officer rank used by the Legionnaire Navy. The SrSHP was granted to those Midshipmen who achieved superior approval by the Captain of his or her warship.
The SrSHP would serve on the Command level (within a single unit, such as a starship or space station.) This, the seniormost NCO rank of any Command, was resposible for the operations of an entire vessel's compliment of enlisted men and women. In that regard, the SrSHP of a vessel would work closely with the Executive Officer of the post.
